There is so much to do when you stay at The Pillar Inn! Modify these sample itineraries to the dates of your stay and your interests. Contact us with questions or suggestions!
(Please note the brewery tours are limited on Saturdays and the bakery is not open on Sundays).
Arrival evening:
Check-in at The Pillar Inn between 430-630pm.
Take a walk around town to "get your bearings".
Have dinner at the Great Blue Heron restaurant.
Day one:
Tour the Cold Spring Brewery! www.coldspringbrewery.com
Visit El Rancho Manana Campground and Riding Stables, for hiking and/or bird watching, horseback riding, or canoeing on the lake.
Enjoy pizza and a beer at the campground or have dinner at the 400 Club on Pleasant Lake.
Take in a Cold Spring Springer's amateur baseball game!
Day two:
Visit the Cold Spring Bakery and Cold Spring area boutique gift shops! (see links below).
Walk, rollerblade or bike on the Lake Wobegon Trail!
Have dinner at Fisher's in Avon!

Make it a "date" weekend!! Our "Out of the Box Dates" game, called Let the Games Begin, is a fun and adventurous way to spend time together while learning more about the Cold Spring area! The best part is your itinerary is spelled out and there are fun things to do AFTER you return to the inn as well!! :) Here is an description of what to expect:
In Let the Games Begin, the winner takes all, or at least the suggested prize, which you are sure to love! There are several destinations in the Cold Spring area. At each one, you have a challenge to complete. This adventure will keep you guessing and giggling. You'll find romance in the most unexpected places!
In your box, you will not only find all destination info such as addresses, hours of operation, etc., but also directions to each place in the order you should visit them. We've also provided drink tokens and game cards needed for each destination so there should be no out-of-pocket expense to you (unless you want to do or purchase something above and beyond our recommendations...which local businesses would appreciate!)
Oh, and let's not forget all the points you can score with one another in the "Secretly His" and "Secretly Hers" envelopes! These games are all about romance and can be played all throughout the week following your Cold Spring adventure and on your date. Romance continues for weeks-even after your date has ended-with our signature game, "The Love Lottery". On your mark...get set..go!! Cost is $34.98 and must be ordered in advance.

Make it a shopping weekend!
Visit the wonderful shops of Cold Spring and then head to St Cloud to Crossroads Mall and other great stores.
Visit the beautiful Munsinger Gardens along the Mississippi River.
Hike or bike the Beaver Island Trail that goes through the St Cloud State University campus and along the Mississippi River.
Have an early dinner in St Cloud and head back to the peaceful town of Cold Spring!
Go to a movie at the local Quarry Cinema!

The Grande Depot is Central Minnesota's newest retail complex! Located within a completely refurbished former train depot, you will find stylish accessories for your home, an extensive array of culinary items and gourmet foods, as well as a wine shop that stocks many varieties of wines as well as unique beers. The decor is beautiful. It really is a must-see when visiting our area! Located at the intersection of I-94 and Hwy 23.
